Covid-19 Update - Wales

To protect the safety and wellbeing of the bereaved, our teams and funeral director colleagues, we are closely monitoring government guidelines in Wales.

We are pleased to confirm that on Saturday 7th August 2021, Wales has moved to ‘alert level 0’, which means that there are no longer any legal restrictions on the number of people who can meet indoors including public places or organised events.

Naturally, this has resulted in the complete reopening of our chapels’ seated capacity only, offices, waiting rooms and associated external buildings, however, we are continuing to maintain many of the good practices established throughout the pandemic as follows:

  • The wearing of face coverings in all indoor public places remains a legal requirement. This applies to everyone aged 12 and over unless an exemption applies;

  • We continue to offer hand sanitiser in and around our buildings;

  • We continue to ensure that where possible we have doors and windows open as much as we can to allow for good airflow and ventilation throughout our buildings;

  • Due to the possible transmission risk of covid-19 via aerosol droplets, singing will continue to be not permitted;

  • Mourners are still urged to minimise social contact with others.

  • We continue to offer the use of the NHS Track and Trace posters to enable all visitors to ‘check-in’ at our premises, however, it is not a legal requirement for people to use it.

  • We will continue to encourage as many mourners as possible to attend remotely by using our webcasting facilities.

  • We are able to offer the witness charging of coffins as normal.

  • Those attending our sites should try maintaining a sensible clearance area between others if possible.

  • We will not return hymn books to our chapels until a later date.

  • We now allow for curtains to remain open and for mourners to walk up to the coffin to touch/place flowers.

  • We remain happy for donations and collections to be carried out by the Funeral Directors using their own donation boxes or encourage families to make use of online charitable giving sites.

  • Regular hand sanitizing is still advised.

  • We ensure that regular cleaning is undertaken in between services to multi-touch points (e.g. door handles, lecterns, catafalques, backs of pews)

  • We carry out a deep clean of the chapel at the end of every working day so that our chapels are ready for the following day.

Our response to coronavirus (COVID-19)

Our customers, colleagues and communities are at the heart of what we do. Therefore in light of the developing Covid-19 situation, we will be posting information on what action we are taking based upon recommendations by the Welsh Government.

In line with government updates and current restrictions, we have limited our chapel capacity. Please contact the office directly for the latest capacity advice.

Memorials

During the current situation, we appreciate that it may be difficult to decide on a fitting tribute for your loved ones. We know that finding a special way for you to remember and mourn is extremely important, and we understand that you may be thinking about what options are available to you at this time.

We’d like to reassure you that our trained colleagues are still available to assist you in finding your loved ones’ lasting tribute.

If you’d like us to contact you to discuss this further, or to ask any questions you may have, please complete the enquiry form on the Brochure Request page where you can also download a digital version of our Memorial Brochure.

Memorials update – 28 July 2021

Due to events beyond our control resulting from significantly delayed shipments from overseas, memorial orders are currently being received later than expected. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We are endeavouring to limit any disruption to a minimum.

If you are considering purchasing a memorial, we encourage you to place your order at the earliest opportunity to ensure its installation as early as possible.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any enquiries, please contact the Crematorium Office.
